Kamway Engineering

Overview

Established in 1969 we are a subcontract machining company specialising in precision machining of stainless steel, alloy steels and aluminium components.

Our customers vary from aerospace to survey equipment through security and food processing.

Product Design

When requested we can offer a design service and have helped many of our customers take their ideas from conception, through component design and into finished products.

We pride ourselves on understanding our customers’ requirments and work closely with them to efficiently create quality components.

Materials

We have a bonded store for the materials that our aerospace and some other customers use, with traceability back to raw material manufacture. This material is kept seperately from our commercial materials.

Our dedicated team of engineers have experience of machining a wide range of materials. We specialise in Aluminium and Stainless Steels although other materials can be accommodated.

Manufacturing

Machining cycles are programmed and simulated using off-line CAM software.

Our CAD/CAM capabilities include Autodesk Inventor and Vero Edgecam.

The programes are then transfered to the appropriate machine for the manufacturing operation.

Quality

Kamway Engineering is ISO 9001:2015 certified by a UKAS Accredited Certification Body. We hold supplier approvals for a variety of companies.

Finishing and Assembly

All components can be polished to your requirements in preparation for anodising or can be prepared for painting.

Components can also be assembled if required.

We can offer a fast turnaround of your requirements and will be pleased to quote promptly on all enquiries.

We cater for small to medium size batch production and also undertake prototype and development work.

“For many years now I have used Kamway Engineering to provide a wide range of CNC and manual machining solutions. I have always found them to be a very responsive team of engineers always providing a high quality service whenever needed.”

CAD/CAM

CAD/CAM

CAD / CAM

Autodesk inventor is used to create 3D solid models, assemblies and 2D drawings.
Assemblies can be checked for interference fits and a bill of materials can be produced, listing all components including nuts, washers, bolts and bearings.

We use Vero Edgecam to create our CNC milling programs. Drawings can be imported from Inventor as well as industry standard IGES, DWG, DXF and STEP files.
Edgecam can be used to program milling, including 4th axis machining and turning including multiplane and 5-axis machining on our Mill-Turn machines.
Each machining sequence is simulated and checked for tool collision before outputting the code for machining.
